The Virginia Methodists for A New Thing movement values a diversity of voices. The blog posts shared here come from authors from around the Conference with a variety of viewpoints. They are lay and clergy; male, female, and non-binary; members of the LGBTQIA family; people of color and people who are white; cisgender and gender non-conforming. Rev. Tim Barth provides an excellent summary of the peaceful witness that took place on the floor of Annual Conference on Friday June 17. “What happened on the floor was not meant to be disrespectful. It was meant to bring transparency to the complaint process found within the Book of Discipline,” Rev. Barth shared. “I believe this pastor has been denied the right to fair process and a speedy trial. No one should be under complaint for 3 years!”
